My brothers wedding

We left on a Friday in the morning, I was pretty exhausted because I was just not able to sleep at all and had pretty much been up all night =\
Put Padme into her carrier...thankfully she went in with no problems (unlike Taro a few days before where we actually had to cancel her nail trimming appt, because we could not her in) but she was scared. James was a huge help with the bags and getting us into the cab to the Vet's while I handled Padme.



Filled out some forms and then one of the vet techs weighed her, she's 14 pounds and they said that was an okay weight because of her age and being spayed. Padme was still scared but when the tech left the room she huddled under her Star Wars towel and attempted to check out the area.


It was funny to see her slink around the computer...I should have taken video.


Then she was taken over to her pen which was quite large, I just took a photo of the one section.


She immediately crawled into her fuzzy pita to hide =(
They also had a really nice playroom that she could have some time (alone) in when she was feeling less afraid. Leaving her was hard but I knew she'd be okay. We just left Taro here with lots of food and water since we'd only be gone for 2 days.

Got transit to Greyhound and took that to the Ferry (my Mums idea...I really didn't want to pay the extra -_-).
Ferry ride was fairly uneventful, James and I wandered around outside and took pictures.





Dana picked us up in Nanaimo and we drove back to her parents place, it was packed with tons of people....mostly her family and friends.
James and I wandered off alone before dinner to get away from it all, they were a bit of a walk from the beach so we went to check it out. Saw a bunch of animals on the way XD
The wooden steps down to the beach area were long and hard to manage in the shoes I had worn...so James helped me most of the way. Once at the bottom we had the entire place to ourselves...I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get back to the dinner.







The dinner was a bit awkward at first, with the not knowing people plus my Mum and brother had gotten so busy with everything they seemed to forget we were there. We ended up sitting with some of her family who came down from Alberta and they were great, really nice to us ^_^ I hope people didn't think I was rude for not saying much but I was honestly falling asleep the whole time, her brother was nice enough to drive us to the hotel around 7pm while the dinner/party was still going on.

The hotel room was small'ish but really nice, we randomly decided to go for a walk to find food but that failed...we did find some really cool looking spots that we hoped to be able to check out if we had time.

Wedding day~!
No one knew how we were getting to Dana's Aunt's house or when...planning was not wonderful. Chris just said he'd call us /swt :P
We ran into them in the lobby, he looked so spiffy and very James Bond...which was the look he said he was going for so he was happy. He said they didn't even have the Aunts address *facepalm*
All he could tell us would be we'd be leaving sometime after 12pm so James and I went to get breakfast at the hotel. Had some very yummy fruit n waffles and the most lovely older waitress ever XD

The view of the ocean was perfect and we could even see a guy playing bagpipes with some Scottish dancers ^_^

After that we walked the waterfront for awhile, it was really nice. Sadly we didn't get a chance to check out a creepy gated area I'd spotted the night before.

Up high and frozen in fear...but you can't tell XD


Finally found out we'd be getting to the wedding spot with Hank, my brothers work buddy.

No one was really there which was odd, even Chris was wondering wtf was up


He asked me where Mum was and I was like you dork...she doesn't have a cell and stayed at Dana's Mums place...only you can contact her...I didn't have anyone's number /swt
We joked that this was our family's side, we don't really have anyone left


They weren't even doing sides because of that, it was a sit where you want thing.
His friends had turned up so I was like yay, people I know XD

Eventually my Mum turned up, her hair looked awesome. She's always had hair down to her butt and would be in tears if you so much as cut an inch...she was also terrified of colouring. But I managed to convince her to go see my stylist the day before we left and she actually did o_o I really thought she'd come back in tears finding something to hate about it but as I was on my way to the bus because I'd made an appointment for the same day...I actually walked past her on the sidewalk T_T, she loved her hair and thought it was so funny that I hadn't recognized her :P

Anyway, my cousin Kim showed up with his family, its weird because the last time I saw him was at his brothers wedding when I was like 8 (that cousin couldn't make it) so I didn't remember him at all, its only been thanks to Facebook that we've starting talking and getting to know each other ^_^ They invited me to come stay with them in Red Deer sometime and said they might be driving through Vancouver this month and to call them when James and I go back to see if they can meet up with us somewhere.

My Aunt and Uncle were also there, that was it for our family. Kinda sad its so small now =\

Chris and Dana didn't bother hiring a photographer (*twitch* this is one part of my wedding that I will spend a lot on T_T!) and instead asked her sister to take pictures. She had a decent camera and ended up taking one of my favourite shots ^_^. I was sad I wasn't able to get a DSLR before the wedding...I was just stuck with my point n shoot.

Wasn't too happy with the seating arrangements, James and I were moved twice...and then we ended up sitting away from my Mum X_x, also....the little family we had were sitting in the back row :X
Had I been sitting next to my Mum I also could have gotten a better angle on the shots so that was an extra annoyance =\

Out of all the weddings I've been to I have to say his wins for best music, lots of Frank Sinatra and such ^_^
Sadly the dance floor was so tiny...James and I could not show off our new Ballroom dance skills :P

Got a lot of "So when are you two getting married?" which is better than the more recent "When are you two going to have a baby?" o_o

My Mum was drinking Mountain dew (she ONLY drinks Sprite)...had some guys flirting with her and then I saw her up on the dance floor (with my brothers friends wife) I was like wtf...have you been drinking? She doesn't drink bought shes so...well..her...so I thought she must have had a drink T_T but nope...

Forget what time we left, got up and had another breakfast at the hotel...this time with a grouchy waitress, bah. Then got a ride back to the ferry and into New West with Jon, his wife and their son. They dropped of off at James' place so we could grab his car and hurry to the vets to get Padme before they closed and yay we just made it XD She was so happy to be home ^_^
