James and I drove up to the beautiful Edgewater Lodge in Whistler for Andrew and Alisha's wedding~
It was Pride & Prejudice themed so they asked that I wear my regency dress, I was worried because wearing white to a wedding? Baaaad! So I sent them a photo of it just to be sure and they still wanted me to wear it, I still worry what the guests thought~

James looked awesome too but sadly I've only seen one photo with us in it and you can't see our clothes well.
I didn't bother taking any pictures because my camera decided it didn't like the lighting.

It started raining a couple minutes before the ceremony so it was moved under the tent, but even with the lighting and rain it was still very beautiful. It fit the setting ^_^ Had a wonderful time seeing everyone and even James had a great time even though he's not comfy around tons of people or people he doesn't know. He said you could just feel the love and happiness radiating from everyone and that made it different from any of the other things we've gone to.

I loved that they had a video message from her brother in Afghanistan and a beautiful large colour photo of the dogs where you could write a message to him on or even send him a video, such a sweet idea ^_^

James wanted to leave before dark since he's never driven anything but flatland before and I was going to stay and maybe get a ride back with someone but when that couldn't happen he stayed and we didn't leave until after 11.

I woke up around 5am a bit itchy, there had been lots of mosquito out and I really should have put on my Off cream but didn't...anyway, I popped a Benadryl and went back to bed,
Woke up for good around 11 super itchy, I had a bite on my right arm, one on my collar bone and the back of my left hand had a marble sized lump on it...so I took another Benadryl.

About an hour later the marble lump became golf ball sized so I called my Mum to see if there were any clinics open on a Sunday, she said no and suggested I call 811, our nurses line and see what they say.
So I did that and the guy went through a bunch of questions with me, then suggested I go to a clinic..I'm like, its Sunday...and tomorrow is BC day...he was like "Oh...good luck =\, you might want to go to the ER then..."

Day 1 (around 2pm)

I was hungry so I talked James into going for lunch, he just wanted to get me to the hospital but I told him that although I knew it was still swelling (and feeling numb...) I could still breath and didn't have a fever or anything. And how last time I went to the ER hungry I was stuck there for 4 hours before I could eat...so he reluctantly agreed.

Eating was awkward, he had to cut my meat like a little kid...I was slowly losing the use of my left hand...couldn't even make a fist.

I insisted on busing there, parking costs too damn much and Royal Columbia is right up the street from a Sapperton skytrain station~ On the way down to Columbia, we ran into Carl and a bunch of Cammies off to the BBQ, they asked if we were coming and I held up my hand. Mike was like "Yup...that looks broken"

o_o!

I explained it was a bite and they were like @_@!

Didn't have to wait too long once we were in the ER, my triage nurse was a cranky bitch, she took my vitals then sent James and I off to another area. Waited there for a doctor (who was also a bit cranky) and a really nice student doctor.

They asked if maybe it was a wasp that did it and I said none were around plus I would have noticed when it bit me and they had to agree. We never did find out what it was, best guess was a mosquito that bit right into the vein and it got infected.

She said they were a little worried because of where it was, if it had been on my leg they wouldn't care as much. But being on the back of the hand and the rate it was swelling was a worry.

She drew around the swelling (something I should have done at home prolly) and told me they were going to put me on outpatient IV antibiotics along with a bunch of pills and I was to come in everyday for treatment :X
Then sent me back out into the waiting room, got taken into yet another room where a nurse inserted the IV tube into my right arm, then gave me 2 huge pills to try and swallow which wasn't fun...I've always had trouble swallowing pills.

The pills were to help the antibiotics stick in my system and I'd have to take them twice a day 30mins before the antibiotics. So we went back out to wait again and in half an hour she brought me over an IV on wheels and attached it to my arm.

Day 1

James asked the nurse if we could pop out to get me a drink because I was thirsty plus some old guy had crapped himself and the whole waiting area stank...she said sure so we walked off to the cafe...with me constantly tripping over and kicking the damn IV stand.

Drinking was awkward, left hand was now useless and right arm hurt so I had to hold my drink with both hands in some kid like way, I asked James to make his stir fry later and he said sure...then drew this picture of me as a puppy with huge eyes stuck to an IV begging for stir fry :P I need to scan it.

Day 1

Got chewed out by the nurse when we went back, she figured we'd only be gone 5mins but we'd been gone almost 45...she was like "OMG this is your first time having these meds! What if you had had a bad reaction!"

Erm...I was still in the hospital... o_o

I was fine, they took the IV out but left the tube in my arm and just wrapped it up with instructions not to bump it too much or get it wet.

The infection was already outside of the line and looked even worse on day 2
Day 2

James had to help dress me, I attempted my bra by myself but nope...too hard, once he got it on me I had to do the girly thing of um...lifting the girls up and putting them in the cup...well being an I....they weigh like 5 pounds each..TMI I know :X but I did one and was like OW!!! James....I have a job for you I don't think you'll mind doing =\

No showers...too awkward, had to saran wrap my IV arm and since I couldn't use my left hand...James had to help me wash my hair and stuff. I hated being that incapacitated but was very grateful for him looking after me.
He took me to the hospital each day and waited while I got my treatments, had a really nice IV nurse named Ky, Daniel would have been in love XD
Day 2

Hanging out

I stayed with James for 4 days and went home on the 5th because I was missing Padme, she had a great time chewing on my hospital bracelets that I was told to leave on.
Bad kitty 1

Bad kitty 2

By day 4 it was already looking a lot better
Day 4

The Benadryl never did touch the itchiness for that though =\

bah

Got the IV out and then was given a prescription for just the antibiotic pills, but not the white ones...and god...I soon learned why they give you those...

The reaction I had to the pills alone was just awful, I was so sick =\
On my birthday I cheated and didn't even take any...I wanted to be able to have a nice day out and not have it ruined...as it was I felt guilty around 9 and popped some..within a short time I started feeling awful so we had to head home, I was happy we managed most of the day tho. Went and saw my regular doctor the next day and explained everything, he looked at my hand and was like stop taking the pills, it looks fine and you've suffered enough with them.

My hand still hurts in the spot from time to time, not bad but enough to be annoying, wondering if there is some nerve damage? I hope not.
