Traffic was awful and we didn't get there till just after 3?
I was in time for a Long Sword lesson with Academie Duello though so I took part in that, first time they've given me a real sword. Usually I get stuck with a boffer.
I was a little worried holding it, plus I was partnered up with some guy I'd never met....I was worried one of us was going to crack the other in the skull o-o
But it was all good ^_^

The guy was pretty nice and at the end I thanked him for not killing me :P
It was much hotter than last year, 32C - I was VERY glad I'd brought several bottles of frozen water plus doused in sunscreen...
Didn't take a lot of photo's the first day...I was too hot to care.
Was annoyed at Daniel who cancelled on us as we were leaving to pick him up, he forgot he had a LARP meeting and also said it was "Too hot", I know he had mild sunstroke a couple weeks ago and if he hadn't run off to a weekend larp in the sun the weekend right after that...I may have understood, he promised he'd come on Sunday after 6 when it had cooled down a bit, which I thought was silly because it didn't really give him much time.

Isabella from www.felixandkitty.com/index.php made me come try some of her beautiful corsets on, at first I was like "Why?! I can't afford one right now!" and she was all "because it's tradition with you...I always make you try stuff on" First she put me into a pretty pink corset with a Hello kitty design, but it was too big so she had me pick out another.
This one caught my eye and it fit perfectly XD
but $208 was a bit much at the moment.
We got talked and she discovered I usually work as a nanny so she asked how much I make. I told her and she asked if I'd then do some nanny work in exchange for the corset.
I said sure and the next thing I know she ripped the tags off it then dragged me over to another tent, told the woman there (who is a friend of hers ^_^) that I'd look after her children when she needed.
I like this exchange of services thing XD

The archery thing wasn't open long on the first day and when I'd wandered over the guy was just closing up. =(! He asked if I wanted to shoot off a couple arrows tho (yay! XD).
I'm STILL bruised and sore where the damn bow string wacked me XD I only managed to hit the target with one out of the two arrows but it was still fun...I'd like to go to the archery place in Burnaby and try it out a bit more.
(And yes...pink bows do exist, I checked :P)

Saturday - Got there around 2, wandered around and saw the usual pretty things.
I'd only bought a $6 necklace the day before because I really had no spending money this year around, I was lucky enough to be able to get in.
Derek G. was there and it was nifty to see him since he doesn't come to game much any more.
Also saw Kat, Porche and Rick for a short bit and ran into a couple other larpers, Hayley & Sean.
Same as Friday I didn't see Askhim =\ but the farm kitty was there and loving me when I had food.

Wandered over to the Millennium's tent and saw they had the dress Katie lent me for sale.
Top $136
Skirt $136
........not an outfit I'd be buying any time soon...but as I was standing around a random woman walking by was like, but that sale sign says all skirts and tops are $20. I lol'd thinking it must be the other stuff on the rack, so the woman asked....and it WAS everything. T_T Strange woman I love you!
Derek gave me $20 for a birthday gift and told me to get part of it even though I was all omg no! @_@! So thanks to him and Alan lending me $20....I now own it XD *glomps them both*
Left during the pub sing because we were going to David's birthday party, his place was pretty small for that many people...
The party was odd, some good parts, bad parts and strange parts but I mostly had fun ^_^
Sunday: Was pretty annoyed because Daniel never showed (and I found out he went to an IA game so so much for wanting to avoid the sun..) and then David cancelled out last minute too /swt
Watched the joust for the third time but this time put myself in trample position (no idea why the one area isn't roped off but its not...so I sat there under the bright sun taking pictures.
And which way did the giant dust clouds go? That's right...in my face XD
I was eating sand for about an hour but didn't care.

Accidentally wore my corset upside down for the first part of the day lol....and I didn't get any full body shots with it right side up.
Hung out with the Irish Wolfhound rescue association, great people and really sweet dogs.
They were the ones I bought my necklace from on Friday, the money goes to help the dogs.
These pictures don't even really show just how HUGE they are @_@!

This woman and her little boy looked so awesome, and they were so patient XD I was having a hell of a time trying to get a shot that wasn't washed out *shakes fist at the sun* and she was totally fine with waiting around while I played with the camera settings.

The girl behind the cute little fairy was very nifty ^_^ (Sadly I didn't get a clear shot of her =( ) She makes wonderful home-made soaps and massage oils that are safe for people with very sensitive skin XD
She even gave me one of her citrus soaps I had been admiring but couldn't get because I didn't have any money. It smells so nice and was great to use right after I got home....covered in icky sunscreen and tons of dust ^_^
