Alberta Trip pt. 1
It seemed to come up so fast and even though we'd been packing and buying things we'd need....it still felt like we weren't ready.
Got the foam mattress set up in the back so we wouldn't have to bother with much when we got to the campsite. We'd planned on taking 2 days to do the drive instead of the 1 his parents usually do it in. This way it would be less exhausting and we could see some sites.
James had bought me a kitty cat pillow pet a few days before and omg its so awesome, I was kind of wondering if it would be as amazing as the guy selling it said it would be if you wrap it (the stuffy can fold and you Velcro it so it stays) around your seat-belt. It worked and OMG SO COMFY XD!
I was nervous as soon as we started driving, I have a fear of driving now...thanks to Mr. distracted angry road-rage filled youknowwho :X it took me over an hour before I started relaxing into it. James said if I started to feel more panicked to let him know and he'd pull over for a bit.
Sadly the weather was horrible so we didn't bother with stopping to sight see and rain made the mountain roads scary. I really didn't like when the giant big rigs came towards us full speed.
We had dinner in Valemont at our favourite little restaurant and then started towards Jasper where we planned on camping for the night. It was a bit scary again....driving through Jasper in the dark (which we'd hoped to avoid) but we made it through, paid for a sight-see pass and then a camp spot. The guy was great and put us right near a washroom (I drink a lot at night...:X) then sent us off with a warning to watch out for Elk because its rutting season, he said they make a very haunting sound and we'd be hearing it all night. He also said he wouldn't warn us about bears since we didn't plan on walking around...other than from the vehicle to the washroom.
His car must be sound proof because we didn't hear any Elk until my first trip to the washroom, I woke him up because there was no way I was going alone :P, he opened his door...got out and said "Did you hear that?" I said "Hear what?" as I opened my door...and then heard this uber creepy sound that was very inhuman screaming T_T!!
Sooo bathroom trips were not fun and we decided to get a hotel room for the trip back :P
We were a little cramped but comfy, cuddled up on the comfy foam thing. And it was nice n warm ^_^
The next morning I actually managed to see a female elf and was happy because last trip around I never saw anything except for a coyote in Edmonton :P
The weather was perfect, bright, sunny and a little crisp. We went into town to have breakfast and then went looking for one of the waterfalls ^_^

Didn't see anymore animals so I was disappointed~
Drove to Barrhead to visit one of his friends...and 20mins into the down we hit more bugs then we ever did our whole trip :X It was so nasty.
Hung out there longer than we should have but they were really great people and had 2 adorable kids who enjoyed dragging me off to play with them for most of the visit XD
Because we stayed longer than planned this meant driving the rest of the way in the dark....we were both exhausted and his eyes were hurting but we kept a close eye out for any animals. He said deer were easy to see because their eyes glow when the light catches them...so that would help but moose...nope...and if you hit one you are most likely dead :X
I had to wonder if all my complaining about never seeing animals did something because suddenly it was like EVERY fecking deer was suddenly on the sides of the road...it was nuts! Both sides were just lined with them :X! And some were even partway on the bloody highway :X
So we tried to slow and and did some little swerves to avoid....
About an hour or so later I thought I saw something and said "JAMES! movement on my side @_@!!!!" he slowed down a bit and I kept staring at the spot where I thought I saw movement...was about to tell him never mind...I'm just tired when a friggen black bear ran out in front of us :X
James managed to swerve and thankfully I'd noticed it because if he hadn't slowed down just before we would have hit it. :X
Gads I was so freaked out and couldn't wait to get home....but then we had to deal with a drunk driver a head of us...so James kept a lot of distance between us and called the comps.
We made it to his parents place around 11pm...it was sad seeing the front steps empty...no Sarge. I wanted to cry =( ,
visited with his parents and his Aunt for almost an hour. Saw Charlie and Daisy then hopped back in the car and drove down the dark street to his place.
He went paint-balling with friends the next day and I decided to stay home (since there was no viewing area other than the field and I'd likely get hit) and go exploring.
The rules are:
Daytime - take a dog with me and go anywhere except the back40...and to be extra careful this time because there was a bloody cougar running about :X
Nighttime - no going outside alone (and this I am totally fine with @_@!!)
Daisy stuck with me more than Charlie this time around so that was a change, I was a bit scared of her last visit...she is not taken care of at all and seems like she could go wild anytime =\
She'd just had a litter of puppies two weeks before because she wasn't fixed.
Anyway, the two of us...and sometimes three of us ran around where ever we could. Backyards, forest, under barbed wire and into the horse fields XD it was great. And how I spent most of my days ^_^
I'd wake up in the morning (weeeeird :P!), grab my newest addiction...apple/cinnamon oatmeal, shower then head out with the dogs, Come back around 12 for lunch, nap and go back out again :P
